What Is Dysport?
Dysport is an injectable wrinkle treatment that reduces dynamic lines and creases throughout the face, like 11 lines between the eyes. Much like BOTOX®, Dysport uses a refined type of botulinum toxin type A in order to temporarily soften or freeze facial muscles under the skin. When these muscles are treated, the repeated contractions that cause dynamic lines will be blocked, and the skin over the muscle will be smoother. How Do Dysport Injections Work?
Dysport injections are performed in-office at our San Antonio, TX practice and typically take only about 15 – 30 minutes following your consultation. You are welcome to ask about numbing creams if you're concerned about discomfort, but most patients report only a small pinch from the fine-gauge needle used for the injections. After the treatment area has been sterilized, a handful of injections will be administered along the forehead region, followed by an ice pack to minimize inflammation and bruising. Following your procedure at Arijai Aesthetics, you are free to perform your day-to-day routine, but you should try to avoid overexerting yourself for at least 24 hours.
